Summer weather sure seemed to stick around for a while longer than usual, but it’s finally starting to feel like fall! Thanks to Eliza at duskangelreads for tagging me.
- Are there any books you plan to read in the autumn months?
Not anything planned in particular, but I have a vague plan to read more spooky, thriller type books. I’ve got The Quick by Lauren Owen up next. Then maybe Ghostly Echoes by William Ritter, The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes, or Gil’s All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez.
- September brings back school memories. What was the best book you studied at school and what were your favorite and least favorite subjects?
Hard to choose a best book! I was not always a huge fan of the assigned reading in school, because as soon as it was assigned I lost all interest, ha. I did enjoy Atonement by Ian McEwan that I read for a class focused on McEwan’s novels. I was also a big fan of Dracula and of course, Pride and Prejudice.
My favorite subjects in school were English (big surprise there, right?) and Band. I was actually a music major for a while in college before switching to English. I absolutely hated Calculus and Biology. I actually dropped out of Calculus in college and replaced it with a Linguistics class. Not sure how that counted as a math class, but I wasn’t going to ask too many questions. 😉
- October means Halloween! Name some of your favorite horror books and films.
I’m kind of a huuuuge wimp, so I don’t have a lot of favorite horror books and films, lol. I like horror comedies, like John Dies at the End (book and movie) and Cabin in the Woods. I also watched a good horror movie on Netflix recently called Hush about a deaf woman who is terrorized by a serial killer in her home. Two thumbs up.
- With November it’s time for bonfire night and firework displays. What’s the most exciting book you’ve read that’s kept you gripped?
Recently, Gemina and the Riyria Revelations. I thought Gemina was better than Illuminae, actually. I was a big fan of the characters and plot. For more information on the Riyria Revelations, check out my recent review. 😉
- What is your favorite Cozy Comfort read?
I’m going to go with what is probably a very popular answer for this one, but the Harry Potter series. I grew up with Harry. My age usually coincided with Harry’s age at each book release. I’ve read these books countless times, and I always find something new to be amazed by.
- What hot drink do you choose when curling up with a good book?
Hot chocolate. 🙂
- Do you have any exciting plans this autumn?
Well, we’ve recently moved to a new state, so we’re still kind of settling in here. We both finally have time off for the holidays to spend them with family which is exciting. Oh, and I’m currently obsessed with Westworld on HBO, so there’s that.
